I want to go to Heaven and I want to see you all there.  However, in the Bible, it lists several things that can keep you from inheriting the Kingdom of God.  I think it is important to state what these things are and discuss it.  Some people think it means if you have done these things that you are automatically destined for Hell.  Well, not necessarily.  See we are lucky in the fact that Jesus died for our sins.  HE took on our punishment for us, however, you should ask for forgiveness and strive to do better each day.  If you struggle with any of the things discussed here, pray about it.  You can also ask us to pray for you.  All prayers are heard, so the more, the better.

So what are these things that we need to repent for and turn away from?

In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, the Bible states that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God, including fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, those who are homosexual, thieves, greedy, drunkards, slanderers, and swindlers. This passage emphasizes that those living a life of sin and injustice will not be able to inherit the kingdom of God.

Here's a more detailed look at the passage:

  • 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,  nor idolators, nor men who submit to homosexual acts, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
  • The Unrighteous:
This verse highlights the exclusion of those living a life of sin and injustice from God's kingdom.
  • Specific Sins:
The list includes various acts of immorality, theft, greed, and other behaviors that are considered unrighteous.
  • Inherent Exclusion:
The passage implies that these actions, by their very nature, disqualify individuals from inheriting God's kingdom.

Galatians 5:21 lists a series of actions and behaviors that are considered sins and warns that those who practice them will not inherit the kingdom of God. The passage specifically mentions envy, drunkenness, and orgies, along with similar vices.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

  • Envy: This refers to a discontented and resentful feeling towards others who have something one desires.
  • Drunkenness: This specifically means the state of being under the influence of too much alcohol, or any mind-altering substance.
  • Orgies: These are described as wild, drunken revelry and excess.

The verse emphasizes that these are not isolated incidents, but rather a way of life characterized by these sins. Paul's warning is not a condemnation of specific actions in isolation, but a call to examine one's heart and motivations. He highlights the importance of living in the Spirit and bearing the fruit of the Spirit, which is characterized by love, joy, peace, and other positive virtues.

Please understand that us believing in this does not mean that we think these are unworthy people.  God does not hate them.  God loves us and that is why HE has tried so hard to get us to turn from sin.  It is not hard to seek eternal life when you know the truth.  I am not here to judge, that is not my place.  I just want people to have access to the truth if they seek it.  I do not hate sinners.  I am also a sinner.  No one is perfect, but I do trust Jesus with my whole heart.  I believe that HE did die for us.  I do believe that HE is the way, the truth, and the life.  I ask for forgiveness of my sins daily because I sin daily.  Some are small and some are complex, but a sin is a sin, period.
